IFAB Laws of the Game 2017-2018

Another year, another edition of the Laws of the Game. IFAB Laws of the Game that is.

After last year’s mouthful of changes, IFAB seems to have opened the floodgates to trying things new because anything and everything is being approved for experimentation.

Likely one of the first major competitions to adopt these changes will be the Confederations Cup in Russia in a month’s time.

These changes take effect June 1st as always so don’t get too excited about implementing them just yet!

Video Assistant Referees seem to be the clear biggest modification to the LOTG and this is certainly something that has been both long demanded and under apprehension from the footballing world.

What is the proper decision for the following situations:
    1. Attacking player kicks ball over GK but is handled by defender inside six yard box and crosses goal line.
    2. Attacking player kicks ball over GK but is handled by defender inside six yard box, but the CR blows his whistle before ball crosses goal line.
